Marianne Macy is a New York based journalist. She studied oral history interviewing at Columbia University and spent her early career as a writer, producer, and preservationist for WOR Radio, RKO General, and WNYC. She produced programming that won the Edward Armstrong Award for Creative Broadcasting at WOR and prepared a major collection of radio archives for the Library of Congress, writing a book on radio history. Her grant writing resulted in the preservation of WNYC, the public station of New York City's historical archives. After that she switched to mainstream journalism and has worked for publications as diverse as PEOPLE, NEW YORK MAGAZINE, GLAMOUR, MADEMOISELLE, REDBOOK, NEW WOMAN, and many others. Her book, WORKING SEX: AN ODYSSEY INTO OUR CULTURAL UNDERWORLD, was featured on Oprah Winfrey, Geraldo Rivera and in the NEW YORK TIMES. The American Library Review stated, "She is an excellent reporter and this is an excellent report."

Ms. Macy continues to write about issues of history, politics, science, human interest, and human sexuality.
